I must admit that I too have used the occasional satirical metaphor both on my blog and in my posts on Skin Cell Forum.
Sadly, few of my readers can tell. My comments about such things as my previous protracted suit against the IRS, and my difficult interplay with various elements of the medical establishment are entirely free of metaphor, on the theory that it is just too confusing for the typical reader to sort out.
I hope you have better success with your satire but frankly it is a fairly forlorn hope.
