Saw your post over at A Little Reality

I am more than just intrigued to say the least.

My Father is Special Forces and served in Vietnam. My Unlced died there. My step-father spent 7 years in Vietnam in the airforce.

I am interested in exploring your thesis that the military industrial complex within the Pentagon is so established that it is difficult for the Rumsfelds, Cheneys, Bush's etc to effect change.

Particularly because we had decent plans on the table prior to the invasion of Iraq such as Zinni's Desert Crossing. Shinseki also called for 400,000+ troops and was poopooed by the Bush Administration.

Had BushCo listened to Shinseki and Zinni in the begining we could be in a very different place in Iraq right now.

Saw your comments on the Tom Ricks piece at MondoWeiss/NY Observer. Thanks for your contribution to the discussion and your service.

Was curious about your thoughts on the Stryker LAV (there's an incredible critique of it available online if you haven't seen it) and also the story of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle depeicted in the movie "Pentagon Wars."

I'll be checking into a copy of your book.

Best regards,

LT

I figured that out a while back...then I was shocked to see all the places we are and I know a whole bunch of guys that work for KBR that used to do their little jobs here in the states but were lured in by the big money.
I watched something on these "black sites" and it made me sick to my stomach. I always believed we were better than this. I believe our people mostly are but when Mr. Cheney makes billions a year...while young men are dying...something is very wrong.
And America will come to the tilting point where they will no longer stand behind the poor military boys if it keeps going like this I am afraid.

Also
When I asked my husband would the terrorists come here if we left Iraq, he said no, that is just the governements way of controlling the people. By keeping us afraid. And I thought we were free...imagine that!

Thanks for your insight Ken. I am always interested in what X-Military personnel think. I served in the Middle East war during the desert shield phase. I feel like the topic of the MIC should be promoted more for the sake of the publics common knowledge base. Society for the most part does not seem to understand that their is this type of partnership right here in our country. As a matter of fact I believe that the MIC prefers it this way.
